Terms of Search Engine Optimization

Terms of SEO

Why study terms of SEO?

Modern consumers navigate the world through search. From laptops, smartphones, virtual assistants, tablets, and more, they search the wild and wondrous internet for the products and services they need. By leveraging the fundamentals of search engine optimization (SEO), you can ensure that your business pops up in these all-important search results.

Citations

Tool search engines trust that a local business is an appropriate place for which users are looking. A local citation is any mention of your business’s name, address, and phone number online. Many SEOs believe they’re a key ranking factor for local SEO.

Content optimizing

is the process of making sure content is written in a way that it can reach the largest possible target audience. The process of optimizing content should include making sure associated keywords are present, adding meta and title tags, and relevant links. You should also optimize headlines for increased CTRs and visual images for increased user engagement.

Google trends

A keyword research tool that lets you type in different keywords to find out information about how that keyword is being typed into Google. The numbers represent the search interest relative to the highest point on the chart for the selected region and time. A value of 100 is the peak popularity of the term, whilst a value of 50 means that the term is half as popular.

Keywords

Keywords are ideas and topics that define what your content is about. In terms of SEO, they’re the words and phrases that searchers enter into search engines, also called “search queries.” If you boil everything on your page — all the images, video, copy, etc. — down to simple words and phrases, those are your primary keywords. As a website owner and content creator, you want the keywords on your page to be relevant to what people are searching for, so they have a better chance of finding your content among the results.

Keyword attributes

A good keyword can be defined in many different ways. They can be very targeted or very broad. A general term may yield a higher search rate than other terms, but top search engine ranking for a targeted keyword phrase will generally give your site a higher conversion rate. Attributes are basically characteristics to consider when choosing keywords; include relevance, search volume, and competition

SERPs

Search engine results pages are web pages served to users when they search for something online using a search engine, such as Google. The user enters their search query (often using specific terms and phrases known as keywords), upon which the search engine presents them with a SERP.
